just a disclaimer...i didn't really just break up with someone, it' sjust a past article from when i DID. thanks for all the love and support, though!!
From the pages of These Times:
Breaking up sucks.
There are few thing suckier (If that's not a word, it should be) than breaking up with the person you've been with, whether it's been a month or a year. You get those inevitable questions: "Why did you break up?" and "Who broke up with who?!".
Comments like "Ohmigod, I thought you guys would be together forever! Now I have to cancel the bachelorette party!" and "Aw but you guys were so CUTE together!".
And, of course, the people who are out of the loop and ask you how your ex is doing, or if they are invited to the wedding.
Then you have to tell the parents. Yes, these same parents you gushed to about how great this guy is, and how you know he'll be good to you. You have to face up to the disappointment in their eyes when they find out you will have to start all over and thy'll have to worry about whether you are having drunken orgies with the pimp upstairs again.
And then there's the emotional pain. Yeah, you know the feeling. Whether you did the breaking up or your ex did, you still feel pretty shitty for a while after that. Not to mention getting back into the swing of single life.
Yeah, it's a tough time, finding that Mr. Right. But in the meantime...I think I will go for that bachelorette party after all. Who knows, Mr. Right might be that construction guy in a thong...
Bullets rock.
