First hit when I searched chaos magick blog+++

you get my half formed argument from a completely different topic -

in saecula saeculorum

"Instilling guilt in followers is an excellent method to keep them in the pews." -- this makes me wonder- Here is a quick definition of guilt: "the fact of having committed a breach of conduct especially violating law and involving a penalty"- (as per mer webster.).

Interestingly enough when I look at the way the words move- there is no account here for the biological basis of "guilt" and or the gustatory reaction-

Lets make a blind assumption that animals do not have guilt (already able to strike this down if we derive our belief system from the stand point that human beings are animals- a biologically sound stance and well proported by <3 R.A. Wilson ie humans are animals , therefore animals have guilt).

Though sometimes you can look at a dog and be like "he feels shame!". Shame & Guilt, pack modalities. The teeth around your throat should make your guts clench and dare you not spill your scent.

This is especially true with guilt and biology- I can only recall one incident of guilt in my life- and the next logical step in my brain was to open the bible. Though at this time I could barely read let alone comprehend what I was reading the societal reflex kicked in and I acted it out. It wasn't even a strong back ground- merely some mentions of this god dood and his general dislike. Immediately after I became a polytheist and can't say I've really ever had such an experience again. Generally this isn't the norm in a predominately monotheistic society.

My point here is that everyone biologically goes through that response at puberty and the religion is just there to take advantage of it and offer a relief. the offer of relief recreates the feeling because you can't continuously seek relief if the feeling didn't return on a regular basis. Simple mind association- like learning how to be in a relaxed state but not. I mean it is a great way to keep great breeding stock separated. No guilt during the transcendental experience creates a freer individual.

To say that this incident happened during the intensity of puberty is if you ask me is no little coincidence. As changing animals we all go through the stance of vulnerability as we become actively sexual- it is a bio physiological change!

I think the point I was trying to dig out of my brain was that our species goes through what we call a guilt response at a certain time and the instances (emotions, events, environment) that become associated with what can relieve them.

Yes - Guilt is a great way to control another person. Crafting shame takes a dexterous hand but it is just a thought form riding shotgun on a biological group survival mechanism.
