Back from the front line of the animation war;
Everybody see Pixar works (nemo, toys story between others) but it gets freaky to see how many people can get involved into the industry, from two to ten times what is required for a casual big hollywood blockbuster staff...
ten minutes of animation can cost around seven times the human ressources required for three complete *traditionnal* scenes... just count on fingers and add two Zs
A few studios involved into comics (like the ronin studios of th excellent Chris Shy) and turning into the animation see their low human means enhanced by 3D progs, but seeing a whole drawing crew of disney still stand very impressive.
Soon is the end of the Ghost Festival. Asians (chinese more specifically) believe the Hell's Gate are thinly opened during this period of time; they don't dress in black, they avoid to answer when they get hit on the back or the shoulder, or when people call them by their full name. Between other stuffs.
Then would come the Moon Festival. I wonder how were thos festes during the imperial days, the richness of dresses and such, the scents and musics humming around. MMmmm.
Well. I hope i didn't 'niu tou bu dui ma zui' but my chinese drawer mates tell me i didn't.
