I'm a mountain that has been moved,
I'm a river that is all dried up..

Listening to my piano get played by someone that is just so much better than I am, it's so beautiful, even out of tune. It has a lovely resonance and the acoustics in our front room make it sound lovely. Reminding me that I need to pick up my books and start playing properly again.

Recently I have made a new friend and gotten introduced to Auto-Tune the News. That is freaking hilarious, search youtube for it if you haven't heard of it.

If the sky opened up and started pouring rain
Like he knew it was time to start things over again
It'd be alright, it's alright, it'd be easier that way

And friday night was the first time in ages that I've been out to a club and not been working. The first time since I started my job, I enjoyed it.

If we take all these things and we bury them fast
And we pray that they'll turn to seeds, to roots and then grass
It'd be alright, it's alright, it'd be easier that way..

I'm reading Snow Crash right now by Neal Stephenson for the 7th or 8th time, finding new things in it that I haven't before and appreciating the storyline better. It's the little details like Hiro Protagonist, Da5id ( 5 is V in roman numerals, so David...or it sounds like Daffyid if you say it with the 5 in it really fast), the talk about religion and the spread of religion and the roots, and the stuff about language and binary codes. It's interesting, and I know it's fictional, well science fiction, but it's based on real research. My best friend is religious and has gotten involved in this church that is..well, I don't entirely approve since they mostly seem to ask her for a lot of money and time and are very anti non christians. They don't like the fact that she lives with me (a non Christian who has very little in the way of morals [as they see it] because she is nekkid on the internet), and a gay couple. They don't like the fact that she's marrying a non-christian boy despite the fact that he is one of the kindest most thoughtful and supportive people she knows. And they make this all very clear. Luckily she's stood up for her friends and her man but she goes because she thinks she's valued. To me it seems like they value her money. But since then I have been more interested in the workings of the Church and in the ideas behind the bible. I've always been more into ancient religions anyhow since they seemed to be more in tune with this planet, but its interesting to see where certain myths came from.

That's my life right now.

p.s. They don't have a religion category?

Yes, I do think it will all work out eventually. Its just stressful sitting around waiting for the final word you know - will the place be sold or will we have to rent this one out while living in the new one...

How long did you play the piano for? I played when I was a kid, and that old piano still is in my fathers apartment. I'd like to take it to my home some day but right now it's just too big..
