I think this is № 1 in a series of posts on puberty, specifically puberty as viewed from the inside by someone going through it for the second time, but heading towards the opposite gender outcome; boy->man the first time around, as a teen, and man->woman the second time, decades later.
Or maybe it's not. Maybe I'll just scream "I hate you all!" and run to my room and lock the door. Who knows.
OK. Physical effects so far; only one - tiredness. I can quite literally sleep 18 hours a day at the moment. (This, BTW, is one week into œstrogen treatment.)
Mental effects; well I'm dead weepy, very clingy (sorry @redberry), and I tend to lack appropriate gaiting of emotions - I feel the correct emotion, but react far more than I should. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry 🤣. I tend to feel rejected when I'm not really. I feel very lonely.
Some of this stuff is very stereotypically teen, so that fits 😁. I'm old and wise, and well able to cope with stuff, and I'm finding it extremely difficult. It gives me some understanding of why so many teens sadly commit suicide - I can barely cope sometimes, and I'm a big tough adult.
Teens, I really and literally do feel your pain.
