I think I have swimmers ear. Yay, summer.

edit: It seems like all I do on this blog is bitch. There are things I like, and am happy about. For instance, I'm going to see the Weakerthans in October. And I move in to a house in a few weeks, and I turn 21. So, there are things in my life that are, as I...

So, I have roughly a month before I move back to Beautiful Central Illinois, and I can't goddamn wait. I miss my friends, I miss things (aside from Denny's) that are open past 10 in the evening, and I miss going to class. I really miss going to class, actually. I also am looking forward to wearing pants, and not getting in a pool ever...

I lived most of my life in Toronto, where there were loads of places that were open late, or open 24 hours.

For the past decade I've lived in a small town where nothing is open late. Seriously, one of the two grocery stores closes at 7pm! We used to have a 24-hour convenience store, but now they close at 2am. We have a coffee shop that's 24 hours. And as of a couple weeks ago, we have a 24-hour gas station.

YAY!

So I have sympathy for you being in a place where everything closes at night, when you could be in a place where everything stays open.

Sometimes I feel bad that I don't blog more, but there's not much to say. I could post a blog saying "Got up early, went to work, pulled a little kid out of the pool, came home, went to borders/dennys" six days a week, and it'd be true. But it's not too terribly interesting.
northern:
You go to Denny's six days a week?

Do you eat the same meal each time?

You can't possibly be buying something at Borders six days a week, can you?

Milwaukee was fun, but the may-or-may-not-be-a-date got definately cancelled.

I have 3 days of fun-filled vacation ahead of me. Monday, I do to visit Kitty and have all kinds of adventures. Wednesday, I have sushi with a girl in what may or may not be a real-live date. Between that? Probably just dread going back to work.
northern:
If it turns out to be a real live date - good luck!!

Why do you dread going back to work?
xalicex:
have fun!!!

It's been a crazy-ass time, let me tell you. I picked up a bit of a stalker, started meeting people and making friends, and worked at leaslt 10 hours a day. Life is getting fun now!
xalicex:
a stalker? wow!
northern:
You have 'a bit' of a stalker?

Does that mean they only stalk you on certain days of the week?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hope it's a good kind of stalker and not the insane kind.

My day off:
Slept til 5. Cookout at Gregs with the other pool people. Home. I rule. Tomorrow, back to 10 hour days.

I did get to play with a blowgun, though. That was pretty sweet.
northern:
A blowgun?

You're a lifeguard? That sounds very cool.

I wish the weather'd hurry the fuck up and decide if we're going to have a cold nasty summer or a tropical one. It'd make my life scads easier.

In other news, I work a 12 hour day saturday, even though theoretically they've banned us from taking both day- and week-over time. Silly park district.
northern:
What's your job?

I want to be Craig Finn when I grow up. Seriously. I got to see The Hold Steady two nights in a row last week, and it was awesome. The Rocking Out* continued unabated, and everyone looked like there was nowhere they'd rather be. Some of the lyrics, especially from B&GIA, sound even better yelled. I was also the youngest person at the show, which...
