I want to be Craig Finn when I grow up. Seriously. I got to see The Hold Steady two nights in a row last week, and it was awesome. The Rocking Out* continued unabated, and everyone looked like there was nowhere they'd rather be. Some of the lyrics, especially from B&GIA, sound even better yelled. I was also the youngest person at the show, which is weird**, since I'm used to mostly going to all-ages shows, but it looked like everyone's nerdy Lit TA was there.
I've also started reading some John Berryman, because he's mentioned in "stuck between stations," and I'm surprised to find that I like it.
