I ended up getting my girl a teddy bear like from Build-a-bear, but from a different store. She loves it d sleeps with it every night. Can't really ask for more than that, so I'm pretty pleased.
My graphic design comes from a slightly different aspect. I wasn't really into art when I was younger. I never had the knack for taking a mental image and making it come out on paper. But after college I started working as a printer and had to troubleshoot crappy files that bad designers had sent us, so I ended up learning photoshop, pagemaker and illustrator. So now I have the freedom to work on something, and if it doesn't look right I can tweak it and make it look better. I'll never be an all star or anything like that, I still don't feel like I'm inspired, but the people I end up doing work for tend to come back, so that's something.

Wicked...geek can definitely be a verb. I'm in a year long art program. It's like a stepping stone course really for say if you wanted to go into graphic design and you wanted to build a portfolio, you get to dabble in everything for a year. I'm kicking around deciding what I want to do because I was in Media Studies and Photography at a university/college for 2 1/2 years, but it was new and it didn't work out well. I didn't like the way the program was headed, they're basically going to run the thing into the ground and phase it out now because it's such a failure, so it was good I left when I did. Although I do have a D70 now, and excellent light meter and some knowledge of photography now so it wasn't totally wasted. I ended up in this art program as a fluke really because I needed to be in school and have proof of enrollment to be able to return to my really great summer job, the income off which I live off of during the year. It's sweet. So ya. But it's actually turning out to be really fun and I'm learning some new things....
Ya I have had bad experiences with Christmases and New Years for the last decade and they tend to just make me more depressed now. Plus I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled and it didn't go so well, I was really sick. But we're through that now and so I'm happy and hopefully the New Year is good, although there's still now snow here...

I know what you mean.. I just started a new job and it's 4 weeks of training starting at 6AM. I don't remember anyones name or half of what I'm being taught at that hour. I don't like being a zombie but it's a sacrifice I have to make in order to pay the bills. Life crap. 
I went to my orthodontist's yesterday, for the 6 mo retainer check up. I love how I always get the lecture about the lip ring. He forgets too that he's already given that lecture a couple times and I have gotten it from my dentist too. I had a horrible time with projects in school. I eked out a certificate program in Internet development at an online school and am not thrilled about trying to go for an Associates or Bachelor's.
