tonite is halloween so YAY! i am finishing the halloween decorating today, and then i'm going to have a drunken good time at durham pub with my girl amy and a friend that just got back from travelling all over europe since last april (?). a long time, anyways.
so i just started reading The Law of Attraction: the Teachings of Abraham. it's not what i expected. but it's interesting. I thought the teachings came from the bible, as this book is the basis for the ever-popular series "The Secret", famously shown on Oprah and blah blah blah. But since it was so back ordered, and since this is the basis for that book, I am reading this one.
and i promised not to read it until i was in a better place, where it could be better recieved and absorbed ie: after group and when I'm less anxious and more focussed.
So it didn't come from a biblical saint. it came from non-physical beings whose energies were translated into words by a channel, one of the co-authors of the book. and this would normally be the point at which i'd be cynical and put the book down. except that i did meet a guy who said he'd talked to non-physical beings before. and while i really wasn't buying this, i listened to what he had to say about it and humoured his beliefs, because he's an extremely smart guy and great influenced me at a very important turning point in my life.
so rob, yes a different rob, has had "contact" with what sounds like similar "people". he said they were far more intelligent than we could ever be, that they had more knowledge than we carried with us physically, and they talked to him for hours about things that he didn't know and things that he didn't always understand, but that gave him a certain amount of peace... i don't even know how to describe what he described to me, in describing something that is more of a feeling than describable.
But anyways, he'd never told anyone before and so I kept it to myself and gave him the benefit of the doubt, but having never experienced something like what he was describing, i didn't really get it. now, if i could ask him some questions, i could see if it might be the same deal as what these people are translating.
or it could all just be hoaxy. but rob will know.

A similiar phenomonon swept the nation about 10 years ago with the book The Celestine Prophecy. Similiar content... a good read and some good insights but I would not take any of it too literally. Just take it in and interpret it in your own way.
