So I just finished house/pet sitting for this ultra rich couple for the past week. I hated it. It might have been less terrible if not for the events of my first 5 hours there. These people have a neurotic little miniature Italian greyhound named Diz.
I arrived at the house at 6am on Tuesday. At approx. 11am while I was in the other room, the dog jumped onto the king size bed then onto the nightstand, and opened my bag of Raisinets. It devoured half of the bag. I know chocolate is toxic to dogs, so I frantically phoned the vet. I was told to rush the dog there immediately, raisins are fatal to dogs.
WELL FUCK.
I grab the dog, race to the Vet, and waited for the longest 30 minutes of my life. They make the dog throw up and give it charcoal to absorb the toxins. I was told to return Wednesday and Thursday for fluids and blood work. The grand total for this was $342.55.
I called the owners and explained the situation. They simply said, "I told you she can get into things!" And not to worry, they would reimburse me for the vet bill. Still, I was thinking these people are going to freak when they see how much the bill was.
That concern flew out the window on Saturday when I not only discovered the wife's massive collection of Prada shoes, but her diamond encrusted Rolex.
They wrote me a check without batting an eye.
I am so happy to be home.
My next saga will be about their African Grey parrot. Sammie........

Oh man I feel sorry for you, but at least you have the patience to pet site for them- I wouldn't have.
