One of the most valuable gifts you can give an indie author is a well-written review. I just received one such (unexpected) gift from a lady named Stephanie Jane.
I don't know Stephanie. My first contact with her was last week, when she got in touch via Twitter to let me know that she was reading my novel, Anhedonia, and enjoying it. A second tweet today advised that she had not only reviewed the book on Amazon UK and GoodReads, but had also included the review in her book blog.
And wow, what a lovely write-up. Not just the five stars, but the extent to which she got it. It's such an amazing feeling, establishing a connection like that with someone you've never met.
Indie writers desperately need more readers like Stephanie Jane. The world of independent publishing would be a warmer and more welcoming place.
