I have always found Captain Jack a little confusing. On the one hand he is Captain Jack, pan-sexual love machine and comanding Torchwood general, working the military coat and boots. On the other hand, he is John Barrowman, screamingly camp Saturday night TV heavyweight. Humm. Give me the Doctor any day.
