Gray's Anatomy is jumping the shark with alacrity these days. It's almost like the show's writers and producers are borrowing from the plot of their spin-off show Private Practice, and are dabbling in a spot of voluntary euthanasia.
Talking of death, despite the utter stupidity of very dead characters stalking their still-alive ex-girlfriends around the corridors and closets of Seattle Grace Hospital, last night the show did manage to make some rather deep and meaningful points about our society's penchant for legally bumping-off such criminals as we see fit.
Interesting really, since most of the civilized world considers countries that sanction the civil murder of their own citizens through their legal systems unfit for civilization hence, paradoxically, if they want to stay in the civilized club they are forced to dispense with the practice of capital punishment. These days the only countries that murder more of their own citizens in the name of "justice" as dispensed by their courts are China, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan this is clearly not the kind of club we should aspire to have membership of. Hopefully Obama will eventually get around to terminating our subscription to this dubious group after he's dealt with more pressing items on his honey-do list.
But I digress; In last night's show, McDreamy and Grey were busy patching up an inmate on death row so he'd be "fit" for the state to murder on his appointed execution date. Chief Resident Miranda Bailey on the other hand was all for doing the job for the state a few days early, so she could harvest the organs for a dying boy in her care. I won't spoil the end of the show for those who have yet to watch it on TiVo, but it's good to see such quandaries explored in this way.
As for euthanizing Gray's Anatomy that should be illegal.

i stopped watching a couple of seasons ago - I hear Dr Torez started hooking up with chicka in cardio soon after for a time line. I did a DVR purge and clipped about 5 shows I just didn't care about anymore. Sorry to hear things have not gone any better.
