Snowgathering - any thoughts?
Just because I know all of you are so interested in Icelandic news ... right?
... well, I thought I should ask you a question about a topic that has been burning the media here in Iceland. I have no idea what it actually is, but it's seems like a gathering / conference of people who are working in the "porn" business. When I look at the schedule it seems like the most innocent stay here in Iceland, and nothing illegal, but still I haven't discussed it seriously with anyone. And I'm not sure if I will. But this is such a sensitive subject here. Women's Right movements here are against it and want to ban the conference, the mayor of Reykjavik has expressed concerns, several ministers and well respected individuals, along with the Bishop of Iceland ... yet the police officer at Keflavik Airport (our national airport) said that we of course wouldn't be able to ban them from entering the country. Making porn is illegal here, but not watching it. And the schedule doesn't indicate any movies being made ... any thoughts in general from you on this?
