so, my boss has this advanced copy of maxx barry's newest, "jennifer government" sitting untouchd on his desk, and i keep circling around, hoping for a moment to grab it and say, "hey, how is this?" i figure, it's right there, virgin-spined, unattached, and he'll say, "oh, our doubleday rep just left it with me. i don't really know his stuff. you want it?"

"i suppose," i'll reply, and snatch it from him.

but, the oppurtunity never presents itself, much as i lurk near his door.

and now, he's got a stack of papers on the book. and i go and talk to him, and the book is right there, and if i grab it he'll think, "how did he see that under the pile of papers? did he know it was there? does he spend a lot of time just searching my desk when i'm away? what's going on? should i fire him?"

so, i can't make a play for it. damn it.

Wow, I'm glad you have such confidence in my deisgn abilities without seeing them.
