A.M.

Why was there no divine intervention?
Or did he send me to do his job
Could he be so cruel
To punish the wicked and innocent so badly

I thought all were his children
Yet he let me alone with them
To treat them like his enemy
Never showing mercy

Was God on vacation or did he just not care
Could he ask me to carry his burden
Like a donkey or burrow
With such a heavy load

I count to ten
Deeply exhaling each time
Holding my breath
Focusing

I think this is my best therapy
Then I squeeze the trigger
Releasing the air
Sighing with joy

My everlasting numbness, helped my greatness
A blankness allowed me to rejoice in the madness
Housed within the body of a God
Being a sociopath certainly helped

The absences all that was good
The everlasting presence of evil
Always remember God created me
Perhaps I am his Anger Management

Knowing he had failed
The innocent and weak
Those who needed him most
Tears rolled down his red cheeks

Why had he turned his back
It was only for a blink of a eye
No human could have done such horror
Did he forget I was a scorpion

The numbers to great
So many in such a short time
No one could expect or think
A Miracle could bring back the dead

I had my orders - he had his
We each obeyed them - most of the time
I know we will never meet
Then again I like the heat

Flawed to most - perfect to those who sent me
They were the worst kind of Hypocrites
They quoted the bible and each night going home to their wives
Yet they laid with prostitutes and sinned more than any others I knew

Like great white sharked that roamed the earth
Eating and destroying all that was in my path
Not just to survive, but certainly not for sport
Like a hurricane I did not discriminate

I am sure he would turn back time
Trade places with those lost souls
Those whose days were ended decades early
The wrong place and the wrong time

Like a life guard looking at the pretty girls not the water
Still he sits at the right hand of his master
His faithful loving them blindly
