Quick update

This weekend was the Slip N Slide party. Enjoy the picks at the bottom of the post.

We slid, we drank, we talked, we laughed, we did many other things besides. Some of us laughed at the opening scene to the original Batman movie (with Adam West). I sang The Necrophiliac Blues (a song I wrote one day, bored in a car), in...

Well, help me sell Chicago. One of the four lives there already, so she would be psyched, but the two from New Jersey and Cali might need some convincing. What would be a fun weekend in Chicago? I've never been.

That kind of weather is God's way of telling everyone to get naked.

This is the excuse I use when I am arrested by the cops. tongue

Would it crush your spirit if I told you that 5-year old told me that she's planning on kicking your ass later?

<<I yelled at a lot of inanimate objects.>>
Hey, as long as they aren't yelling back, you're still on this side of the hospital bracelet, love.

Thanks for the vanilla coffee/rum tip. Congratulations on the publication, and happy belated birthday to your slithering sweetie. 'Glad you're recovering from the funk... don't go Hemingway on me: besides the suicide, he was a real bastard to the ladies wink

pssst: 'thought of you yesterday when I took a road trip to Salem with some friends. One of the attractions is the Poe and Hawthorn Museum. I was out-voted and we did not partake in the tour, but if you're ever in Massachusetts, you should check it out. smile

Well, thank you for commenting. I appreciate it. Most of the stuff I've posted lately has been written for the first time mere minutes before posting it...it's all raw, and it's nice to get some impressions on the raw material

Metaphysical jet lag puts bags under the minds eye.

I dont understand why I sleep all day,

So my friend, the lovely Torrie Turner Jones, was making South Park versions of me, herself, and other friends at South Park Studio. They are a riot...she posted them on her journal and didn't need to label any of them, we all recognized each one. So here I am...if I were to rip a dimensional portal in my wall and step into South Park

terrakotta:
I was going to ask about the sword... !

I love the prologue, by the way. It reminds me of an except from Palahniuk's Lullaby and another novel I read last year, Innocence, about vampires taking virginal teenage girls (I can't remember the author's name, but the writing was fabulous: at some times, stream of consciousness).

With other projects pushed aside or finished, I can now move on to my thesis. Its a modern epic poem (told in poetry and prose), called SOULS UNSURE, about a voodoo priestess and a lost angel. To get back in the mind frame of what I was working on months ago, Im going over the vast sea of notes and write ups and free...

Dante's Inferno is one of my favorite works; I didn't include it in my list because if I added The Divine Comedy, I would be including purgatory and paradise, which to me are not as fun. smile What degree are you pursuing? MA Literature? MFA Writing? I hope it is the latter. I've spoken of your obvious gift for prose in the past, and rather than become Echo to my commentary, I will simply state that it is my hope you someday make your final work available for me to read. Your personification and allegory is addicting; your style, intoxicating. I love the synopsis already. When is it due?
nevermore_66:
Thanks skull

I'm getting an MA in English (with a concentration in Creative Writing)...so both your guesses are kind of right wink

I hope to have the rough draft done by September and then I'll go through a drafting process with my committee and do a final public reading and presentation in November (and graduate in December). Then...maybe a little more revision and I'll try and publish it.

Once again, I am violently envious of your life. Keep up the self-love; don't let a Yoko Ono ruin the artist, baby! kiss

PS: I have this weird hang-up about people biting other people, so I might not be able to watch Ankle Biters. It's this freaky childhood trauma thing that is somehow linked to the McDonald's Hamburglar and my obsessive belief that he had sharp teeth. Stabbing, decapitating, mutilating... s'alright with me, but don't bite. I wonder what Freud would think of that?
