Brilliant surprise today! My wife is here! 
I was mostly awake but still lying in bed because I just hadn't thought of a pressing enough reason to get up out of it when I heard the door and then her voice and I leapt up and was down the stairs in maybe two seconds.
She'll be leaving again tomorrow afternoon, and then I'll have another week to muddle through, but today is fantastic!
