I guess the big news is that I'm now a staff musician for an arcade game company in the making. They're just starting up, and they want me to create a bunch of music for their first game. They're planning to take it really far, though, with possible production through Namco, arcade machine giant of the U.S. Long-term, they want me to make music for a whole bunch of games they develop. The game in the making right now is a dancing game similar to Dance Dance Revolution, but different in many ways. For one, the pads are fucking LASER PADS. And that's sweet as shit. I'd go into detail, but I don't want to leak trade secrets
But yeah, that's pretty cool. With any luck, the machines will sell good and I'll get paid for my contributions. They want me to make approximately 10 songs for the game under various names of my choosing, so I chose five names. I can't even remember them all right now. Basically, they're just aliases for the different styles of music I'm going to cook up for the game.
SO YES! Keep an eye out for releases in your local arcade from PlasmaPulse! (I partially came up with that name, by the way. They wanted PlasmaBeat, and I'm like, "no, that's lame, let's use PULSE instead." So yeah, the company's called PlasmaPulse.)
