My first introduction to Bettie Page was actually through the original Rocketeer comics. I was 9. and I didn't know it at the time, but Cliff Secord's girlfriend Bettie was modeled after Bettie Page. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I discovered that fact, and I learned more about Page herself. But I always credit Dave Stevens, writer and artist on The Rocketeer, with introducing me both to Bettie and to classic pinup art.
Anyway, here's a quick drawing of Bettie I feel like I started a lifetime ago. I tried a couple things with it I'm not sure worked, but I feel good enough about it to walk away.
