An image to sum up my feelings about 2013. This was a tough year for me. It started with disease, peaked with death, and wound down with the breakdown of personal relationships. There were highlights, however. Like my dog Sadie.
She's a cancer survivor now. Late in 2012, it was discovered Sadie had a massive tumor on her liver. After a massive fundraiser which included the sale of my original Walking Dead comics (they won't be missed), we were able to get the necessary surgery to save Sadie's life. Now we're a year later and she's as healthy and happy as ever.
Another highlight was the release of my comic Trench Coat Samurai on comiXology.
Early response has been positive. I'm hard at work on issue 2 now. Here's some preview work:
Drawing sexy girls has always been easy for me. Cats, on the other hand. I'm not sure I'd ever drawn a cat before this, and it turned out to be quite the challenge. I feel I lived up to it, though.
Overall, I think I've done well with my art this year. Here's some highlights:
Yeah, I feel happy with where I'm headed as an artist.
Anyway, that's all I got for now. I don't do personal blogs like this much more because it doesn't seem that anyone on SG is giving much in the way of notice anymore. Which I get- I'm competing with gorgeous naked girls for attention, and if it were me, I'd be looking at the naked girls. Still, I'm here. So why not, right?
So here's to the end of 2013, and to hoping for something better in 2014.
