Columbus Day is fine (especially if you enjoy celebrating incompetence), but what about Lief Ericson day? He "discovered" North America (it's not hard to find) nearly 500 years before Columbus. And even he wasn't the first. Honestly, celebrating anyone discovering a CONTINENT is a lot like being happy you found a tree in the forest. And why do they call it "taking a dump" when you're really leaving a dump? Funk dat.

Haha! Yea, if I do anything for Columbus Day it's glaring at anyone who actually thinks that guy was worth anything. Natives don't tend to like him much; you can't "discover" a place that already has people living there. :P

It's American mythology that does a lot to ignore the actual history.
