How come at every 'hardcore' show I go to it feels as if I'm at a rave?

Not to say that I do not slam and get hurt while dancing, but it feels as if I've jumped into some violent Soul Train. What the fuck is up with these people? Did the football game just let out and all the jocks decided to go to a show and show-off dance moves they learned from watching Victory Records' videos? What the hell happened to the circle pit? I've seen str8 edgers beat the piss out of a kid that was just having fun a little to close to the pit. After several kicks to his kidney area he retaliated against a pack of the morons, brandishing "X's" like the scarlet letter, just to be pummeled again by the wolves. These people at shows have established themselves with that of bullies and rednecks.

At another show I watched as several of these dickheads start to do their "clear everyone out of my way so I can do my predetermined dance move". They all started their little ritual without out hurting a person. But then they started intimidating people that were flattened against the wall. I think alot of them were wanting us to join in, but not everyone can do some mad-fly dance moves like we're at a rave, so they decided to dance all over us throwing as many punches and kicks as they could. A friend of mine was injured at the time and had no way to justify his not being able to contribute to the Lord of the Flies behavior. A girl walked up beside me as the music began to sludge in tempo and the bastard singer--in his stylish black hair cut (which seemed to be very popular with the other band members and about 20 or 30 other people in the crowd that night), tight pants and shirt--kicked the shit out of this girl right in the abdomen. My friend's immediate assumption was that she was his ex-girlfriend who broke the news that the child was his. His apathy was then to tell her that he "loved" her, while giving her the bird. How fucking fashionable, Mr. Rockstar. The music the band played was metalcore in the vein of every Blood for Blood rejection band that has come out in the past 7 years. I will not mention the name of these guys, only to promote their name in an attempt to boost morale in their sycophant crowd. The whole time these idiots were swinging their guitars, their little carbon copies floated around like team members on the side lines of a football field and slapped at their bare breasts with a clenched fist.

At this point I had already concluded it wasn't unity that brought these people together, it was megalomania. They come to shows in order to alienate the weaker people that can't dance the same dance, or dance at all.

Weak. I'm real careful about the shows I go to these days. The scene's gone to shit real fast with fashoncore & such. So disappointing.
