Why do people bother faking interest in a friendship? You know what I mean, when you run into some irrelevant friends you hadn't seen for months, you chat for a bit, then give the obligatory "we should get together sometime"... you exchange numbers... but then you both just kinda sit around and wait for the other person to call you....? then a few months you run into them again and start the cycle all over again?
why do we bother sending out false interest? why dont we just say "well it was good to see you, take care" and go our separate ways? are we afraid to be honest?
its true, some friends are there for life, others... for a quick coffee every three months.... and sometiems even that is too much to ask for. If you can't maintain a friendship, you dont deserve to have it. why dont we just be honest, tell them they're awesome, but that you dont see the friendship going anywhere-citing irreconcilable differences or something- and leave it at that. don't bother leading each other on this whole "call me/i'll call you" bullshit. its never going to happen!!!! LOL
