Authors I can't believe I haven't read prior to the last few months...I have the same friend to thank for Jonathan Lethem as I do for James Baldwin. They're pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum, but equally (if very differently) brilliant. Currently reading Lethem's Motherless Brooklyn, and I honestly don't think I've laughed out loud this much since my first reading of Good Omens.
So, so lucky to have friends who are as obsessive about reading as I am! It's one of the strongest connections I'll ever have with anyone - the shared language of much-loved books. How do people live without them?
