do you ever see something that causes odd thoughts to pass through your head?

i sometimes will watch a movie, tv show, or observation in life that tosses strange shit through my head. i can't explain it, but it's just randomness that seems empty. are these things then directed toward our subconscious? are these the things that lead to our dreams, or at least help in formulating them? i have a friend who's had a number of whacked out dreams that include me, more or less as a focal point. i've also had weird dreams that are not of the norm. everything in life just seems to be one big puzzle that we collect pieces for here and there, yet the picture seemingly will never be complete.

i'm thinking too much... i should really go to bed. then again, thinking too much will often leave a man up for hours. i wish i didn't find a puzzle piece tonight, then i would be able to sleep peacefully. hopefully i'll sleep, but i got a feeling that funny dreams are in the works. i'm beginning to dislike funny dreams.
