Hey, kiddos.

Had a great time out last night. Busy day from the moment I left work a little after 3pm. Ran out to the airport to pick up my cousin whom I haven't seen in probably a couple years. On our way back to my place, we stop at Schuller's for a Guinness and a BBB bump. By the time we get to the bar, it's all catching up, non-stop talking. So after a couple sets of this nature, we finally decide to pack it up and head back to my abode. My plan was to have dinner ready by eight... it was seven-thirty.

Upon arriving home, Paul (formerly known as "galen") is already waiting for the feast to begin. I know I'm in a time crunch with the assumption that it'll probably take an hour to whip dinner up. My cousin Steve wound up calling another cousin of ours, Gayna, which neither one of us had seen since she had her son seven years ago! So now it's myself, Steve and Paul awaiting the arrival of my cousin Gayna with her son and lovely Dawn was to arrive any minute.

Dawn arrived, looking absolutely smashing. She was wearing a black corset top with a pleated short black skirt. Her legs were adorned with fishnets and fine leather boots that crept up just above her calf. She stated the outfit had been made specifically for her by a friend that was a designer. She looked unbelievable.

As I frantically am trying to complete dinner, Gayna arrives around 9pm, with her son sound asleep. The three family members kiss and hug as we begun catching up like it had only been a few months since our last meeting. Amazing how family can so easily keep it together through time.

Finally, it's 9:30 and we're prepared to consume a good ol'fashion home cooked meal by yours truly. It turned out pretty good considering the panic that I created with my lapse of time at Schuller's.

By the end of dinner, Steve and Gayna cannot stop talking. In fact the other three of feel somewhat isolated. Our plan was to enjoy some live music (original four) downtown last night, but how can you break up a family conversation? They were on a roll, and they had no intentions of being stopped.

Finally Gayna and her son take off around 11:30. Paul decides to cash in his chips for the night and will fore-go the musical bliss known as Hookers & Blow. Steve, Dawn and I flea for the dreary glow of downtown Minneapolis. The anticipation for the music is high by all accounts.

Glueks is packed to the gills! The bar itself is a throwback that was designed after the original guts of the building were torched more then a decade ago. One would assume the long, narrow & dark pub had looked like that for almost 100 years! The band is still taking a break from their first set. The three of us find a space at the bar to obtain our adult beverages of choice. A table is soon found and we corral three chairs to sit around said table. Neither Steve or Dawn had ever seen this band before. I could see the smiles on their faces once the band picked up again.

What a great night, the three of us went back to my place full, drunk and merry!

Have a great weekend! biggrin
