What a fucking piss ass day so far.
As of three weeks ago, my father and I had hired a fourth person to help bring in the business. We couldn't have been more optimistic about our summer business growing. When things couldn't seem to be any better, the walls start crumbling in around us.
Wednesday evening, the woman we hired three weeks ago unexpectedly quits with no warning. She said her mother was ill and extremely important for her to be with her. She doesn't even leave the door open for herself. Not even a, "I'll let you know how things go further down the road."
This morning I wake up to a phone call from my father. He informs me a guy that's worked for us for a little over a year and a half ago has put in his two week notice. But it goes above and beyond the two week notice. This is a guy my folks have been friends with for over a decade. Since he's been working for us, their friendship has declined, and it's only business of late. Turns out the prick has had his home on the market for some time now. He's moving to Mississippi at the end of the month! Closing on his house is four weeks.
What a slap in the face! The prick has known this for god knows how long, and doesn't even give us a heads up.
The good news... the payroll is lighter.
The bad news... won't be the same amount of business coming through.
Anyone want to move to northern Minnesota and work for me???
