my birthdays generally suffer from a pall of suck. this year was no different, really. i think there's a tension that's hard to overcome about wanting to have a good day and it just makes things go awry.

if there's a classification of "songs about hair dye", yes i can see how that would lift one's mood. and i'm familiar with the raspberry beret phenomenon.

what's even better? straw hat and old dirty frank by the barenaked ladies. for real. it's all about the line, "i'll bring you flowers and a .22 with shells."
