I'm in again, but not for long. On Monday I will be leaving for Florida for a week. I'm probably going to be in the Boston area for the weekend as well, so you won't be hearing much from me for a while.

On another note, the 4th o' July weekend was pretty fun. Roller Derby on the 3rd was great, though the whole "my boyfriend is the score keeper" routine is getting a little old. Fireworks in Boston were amazing as always.

Speaking of which, I'm going to gripe a little here. My group and I had a nice spot on the Mass. Ave. bridge staked out for a few hours before the show. We got our spot fair and square. About a half an hour before the show, when the bridge was crammed with at least a hundred thousand people, a family came and stood in front of us. No big deal right? There was still the entire sky open and visable. That is, until the wholesome American Dad lofted his wholesome American kid onto his shoulders right in the middle of my view.

I yelled "Hey, there are people back here too". The guy shot me a look like I was the conductor on the express to Auschwitz. Why is it that people get a free pass to be rude when it is for the sake of their damnable children? I should just roll over and accept that I have been robbed of the view I came 4 hours early to get just because his kid is so adorable? I wanted to start a chapter of that anti-children league from the Simpsons.

At any rate, the fireworks were quite impressive, in spite of the somewhat diminished view.

Thank you

Funny thing ... I said the same thing to the tree that was partially blocking my view and I got the exact same response. But whatta ya gonna do? Fucking tree bastards.

I enjoyed the Derby. Definitely different than the Mpls version. Mostly revolving around the officiating, as in there didn't seem to be any in Providence.

Have fun in Florida!
