5 Days, $452 and 642 Miles! The Inlaws Tour 2005 is officially wrapped.
It's nice to have my house back. Everything is so quiet again. Don't get me wrong, I like my girl's family, but they are Krazy with a K. When they are all together, doing something simple such as going out for pizza is like planning D-Day. Nothing is left uncomplicated. Mom-In-Law has this ingenious passive-aggressive strategy where she'll say "Do we need to stop at X". No, we don't need to stop there, you want to stop there. Just say so.
It's also pretty funny to have them here since they are right right right of center and we are liberal perverts living in a frighteningly decorated hive of scum and villainy smack in the freak capital of the bluest state in the country. Normally we go see them in Little Rock, but this time they came here for my Girlfriend's birthday. They were in my house.
On that note, it was a deicious bit of role reversal for me to chase them around the house turning off lights. I swear they must own a huge amount of stock in the electric company. I felt like such an old man. "Turn that light out! What do think, I'm made of money?".
It was also quite humorous for me going to see Star Wars with them. Without giving anything away for those who haven't seen it, the movie couldn't have been a more blatant analogy of current events in America unless young Vader-to-be was named George.
On that note, I am happy to say that Star Wars and I have reconciled our differences. The long slumbering Star Wars Dork in me was reawakened.
On one final note, I have to say that 4 or 5 days (almost) free of the internet left me feeling clean and fresh in a way I haven't felt in many many years. And yet, here I am. Back with the quickness. I love you all.
