My girlfriend and I went to visit some friends for dinner last night and boy, was their apartment hot! Not only was I secretly flipping out over how much it must have cost to maintain that level of heatitude, but I was sweating like a pig because I had dressed for cold weather. I don't get why anyone would want to keep it that warm, especially at night. I don't like to be hot when I am trying to sleep.

Hey, I just went back and found your diatribe on Northhampton. Reminds me of Ann Arbor (where I went to college) in a lot of ways. A place that really doesn't exist for any other reason than people it attracts. We always used to joke that it was a one mile circle of fantasy land in the middle of reality, since the surrounding areas are working class communities and farms. I had a love/hate relationship with it as well. I did enjoy my time there, but I'm not sure I would want to live there if I wasn't going to school.

I remember what I was going to ask you ... what takes you Japan on regular basis? I've always wanted to visit since it seems like such a fascinating place. Someday I suppose.
