For some reason I was feeling really old last night. I think it is from hanging out with a bunch of perky 20-something girls non stop. I got to thinking about how the best years of my mid 20s were wasted on fruitless endeavors and chemotherapy.

When my better half got home from work we went out and closed the local Lesbian bar, dancing the night away alongside a throbbing mass of sweaty, ambiguous youth. (not to mention half of our fledgling Roller Derby squad) I feel guilty staying up so late nowadays.

Today I spent a bunch of money I don't have on a helmet & some knee pads. I have to set a good example after all.

Tomorrow Kurt Vonnegut will be speaking in Hartford. I tried to get tickets today, but the website wasn't working.

We were going to have a small get together next Saturday night to play some games, maybe fondue some things. Now it seems likely that it is ballooning to a much bigger entity, so probably you folks should all come out. Notices may be issued...

Thank you

I thought hanging out with 20-something girls was supposed to keep you young. Looks what it's done for Hue Heffner. That guy is like 114 years old.

I love The Harder They Come. It is not exactly a great movie on cinematic terms alone, but the soundtrack is ridiculously good. Did you just buy it for your mom out of the blue or is she a big fan?

EDIT: Hey, I think I told you this before, but we've got a Japanese girl working in our lab for a couple of months. She's been teaching me a few Japanese phrases here and there (nothing special, just pleasantries mostly) and I've been helping her with her English. She asks me all sorts of great questions that really make me think about English usage and language in general. Man, Japanese is such a bizarre language from a Western point of view (of course, she thinks the same of English ... which I wouldn't ever want to have to learn as a second language). I envy your talent.
