I have found that friends are like that. I moved across from the east side of Glasgow to the south side 2 years ago and hardly anyone has visited me. I've probably had people in about 10 times over that time period. Come on people, it ain't that far! Wankers. Yet still I go see them.
I hope you have a good time anyway and your gran gets on with your ladyfriend. Can't be doing with them warring now can we?

I think your friend would want you to go see him and NOT mention it as much as is necessary. Friends will be relied upon to put a sparkle back and improve the mood. That has always been my experience anyway.
