i am in the mood for a good ghost story....
I recently saw the movie identity hoping to get the creepiness of the Ring only to be disappointed...
strange thing to be thinking about celebrating memorial day weekend with family...
or maybe it is quite fitting...
has anyone noticed how strange it is to visit your family...in my case, to have my grandmother visit from far away in south america...she recently lost her husband...my grandfather...it's like she is waiting for her turn...
I look at her and wonder what it will be like with me years from now...childhood is over when you know you are going to die...
I visited this place in south america a week or so after my grandfather died...
it was the place i spent my childhood, and discovered my love of girls at age five...it was the beach trips, and the road trips all rolled into one...
now it's decay...
and greed...
i couldn't wait to come back home, where there is decay, and greed...but it is much nicer looking...
the sun better come out soon
things are sad when there is no sun...

the first night i was in Manglaralto, a week after my grandfather died, and the place he was laid to rest i could not sleep, the air that i was breathing was suffocating me, and every little sound was amplified ten fold...including the barking of the dogs.
never had i ever, never had i since heard dogs bark in the manner they did that night...it was a bark of anger, mingled with fear...
it would circle the town...growing louder and louder, then it would seem further away, only to return again in circle...three times, that it got to the point where it was unbearable to me...i wanted to do something to shut those dogs up, anything! And it occured to me to simply go outside and start throwing rocks at them to quiet them...and as i decided to do this, a tall gainly man dressed in white and with long black hair walked by and my blood froze, and i couldn't move...this figure was the reason the dogs kept barking...and rather than go outside, something in me told me not to...
the next morning i mentioned this to my grandmother, and mother...
no man in this town, they said looked anything like that...as for the dogs, they had not heard them bark. but i swore up and down. "from which direction did the man come," they asked and when i told them that it was from the direction of cementary they simply looked at me all concerned and said,"then it is a good thing you didn't step outside."

you are right my friend...they've been to hell and back and lived to tell about it...i got into this discussion with my mother and grandmother today about the Bible, and i am sorry if this offends anyone, but it is something i find quite remarkeable and speciall, not for any religious reasons, but for what it stands for...four thousand years of a people, or peoples oral tradition.
As a civilized society we forget that in the beginning it wasn't christianity or judaism, or even buddhism. it was all traditions that went back before names...
the bible is a collection of all but a handful of this history...
and rather than find out about it, we make believe that we understand it and know what it is we should be doing, we use it as the basis of hate and wary and power...and it is this ignorance that angers me so much...to say that each story is a literal interpretation, like adam and eve...
Now who honestly believes that we came from just two people who just happened to have names when there existed none!?
with all we have come to learn about cells and DNA, this is not likely!
Buth did people 5000 years ago know about science, or cells? They just knew a baby came from a male and a female...and went with that...our progenitors, our original human mother and father.
