The Price of Entertainment aka How To Annoy Your Neighbors
So I finally broke down and bought a center channel for my home theatre.
Paradigm CC-270 $279
Below is a listing of my surround system along with the MSRP cost followed by what I paid for the items. I did not put in Xbox, PS2 or GameCube stuff.
Television :
RCA D52W20 - $1,699.00 / $1,200 from QVC.
52 inch Widescreen HDTV which I use with my Comcast HDTV cable box.
Reciever :
B&K Ref. 20 - $2,500 / $500
This reciever seems to be one of the beeter older ones to own.
- Will be getting this replaced soon with the Ref 50 when the guy I got this one from purchases the next B&K Ref. model.
Amps :
B&K ST-202+ - $700 / $500
2 channel 140 Watts @ 1kHz per Channel driving the fronts
B&K ST 3140 - $799 / $300 on Ebay
3 Channel 140 Watts @ 1 kHz per Channel driving the center and surrounds
Fronts :
Bose 901 Series V - $1499 / Free since I "borrowed" them from my mom and have yet to return them a few years later haha
- Plan to replace these with some Paradigm fronts even though these sound great in my home none the less. I just want something thinner and direct over reflective.
Center :
Paradigm CC-270 - $279 / $279
100 watts, 90 dB / 87 dB
Surrounds :
Paradigm ADP-370 - $700 / $300 for new pair due to overstock at store
120 watts, 94 dB / 91 dB
Subwoofer :
Paradigm PS-1000 - $519 / $200 for demo in mint condition
200 watts RMS (20150Hz @ < 0.9% THD), 750 watts Peak
This sub pretty much can knock shit off the walls.
-------------------------------------
So the totals not counting a few hundred dollars in cables is:
$8,695 MSRP
I only paid this for all the items though.
$3,279
Put all that in the 15.66 x 9.33 front room of a ranch row home (with full basement). Fun times to be had by all....on the whole freaking block.
