I got some rather sad news at work today. One of my co-workers (who is also a friend outside of work) called us at work today with news that his wife had a miscarriage last night. This would have been their second child. I feel very badly for them, but (in good news) they're both very intelligent and strong-willed people. I feel that they'll be just fine. It'll just take a little time.

In a related conversation that I had today, I learned that one out of every four pregnancies ends in a miscarriage. I never knew that.
