Today has the potential to be a good day, I have finished the last of my study of the eye and the ear and its physiology. The cochlea which is the hearing organ that controls it all better known for its labyrinth of canals and malleus and inca and stapes and tympanic membrane and the auditory canal and the eustachian tubes.. seeing how it all works together was quite interesting. Your labyrinth as they call it is actually a part of what is known as the vestibular system which works with the visual system to keep objects in focus when the head is moving. The brain receives, interprets, and processes the information from these systems that control our balance. The whole balance is quite amazing.. but then again so is the human body. The function of the middle ear is to efficiently transfer sound energy from air to the liquid contained within the cochlea. I mean the fact alone that when you breath it equalizes the air inside your eustachian tubes inside the tympanic membrane to the air outside and all around us from the hole that opens and closes in the top of your throat when you breath is neat enough. lol Actually did you know that is how you get ear infections?
