Right time for a update biggrin

I came back from Russia my dad got rushed into hospital with blood poisoning.

This is the second time my dad has contracted blood poisoning from the dialysis lines in his chest. The Dr's have realised this is a problem and have moved the line's to his leg which should stop him getting blood poisoning. They then performed Dialysis and sent him home with a really good pieces of news.

If he loses weight he can go on the transplant list to get a new kidney.
If he goes on that list I can try and donate my kidney and save him waiting on the list for 3 or more years. That will improve his quality of life and hopefully live longer.

Someone said that I should stop worrying about my dad and put myself first but I just can't do that. I always try and help my friends and family as much as I can if that means I put myself at a disadvantage then so be it.

Im sorry your dad has been so ill, its wierd that he would get blood poisoning, is it common?

Caring so much about your father is wonderful and I'm sure you have a special bond. Donating your kidney is a huge deal and I admire you for wishing to do this for him. There's no harm in putting him first as long as you make sure you have some 'you' time, which you seem to do as much as you can.

I hope it all works out well for your father. Keep up the good work honey.
