Okay had a long talk with my mum and work today.
I haven't really had a chance to talk to my mum about any of this really because I work night shift and she sleeps at night. So any time I have taken off she has been asleep etc. We found out why my dad was so out of it that it worried the doctors and they moved him to ICU.
It was because they gave him 2 full doses of the tablets he is meant to take daily. My dad doesn't usually take even 1 full dose because it leaves him so out of it that he considers it worse than dying. He explained this to the nurse and doctor and they both nodded there heads and understood this and recommended he only talk a 3/4 dose instead each day. Unfortunately the Doctor and Nurse on call at the hospital didn't look at the note's of his file and gave him 2 full dose's and then wondered why he looked like he had a stroke and moved him to ICU.
They have set up a temporary Dialysis on him that will clean his blood while he is in hospital and there planning to send him to Liverpool when it improves so they can perform the full dialysis operation. So basically the doctors and my mum think he is out of the woods.
I also walked into work and basically did the minimal amount of work I needed to do without seeing anyone or any help then went and talked to the shift manager. I walked up to Mike and said he (my dad) is still in Hospital and is now on dialysis. I didn't explain there it was temporary dialysis and not the full operation. Which may come back to bite me in the ass if I have to explain why I need time off because my dad is going for the full operation. I told him that I didn't like letting people down and that i was sorry i took the last few days off with only 20 minutes notice each time. I then went on to tell him i wanted to take a week off starting from Wednesday night so I could spend some time with him (my dad).
Unfortunately that is a small lie because I intend to go to England to see my Nan and other family in Liverpool and let them know my dad is out of the woods etc. Also while I'm in England I will be going to a Nerd Convention. I'm also pretty sure that during that week my dad will be sent to Liverpool for him to have the full dialysis operation. So I can see him and be there for him during that. Mike took this far better than I expected and said that were short staffed here but I know your going to do what you need to do so that's Ok with me.
