Hello. Is anybody there? Is anybody reading? Should I even bother posting this, or will it fall on blind eyes?
Im scared. Seriously. I'm really scared for this country, and for our new President. We are hurtling quite quickly towards anarchy, folks, and thats a fact. How many disappointments will it take before everyone realizes that they put too much faith into someone who is just a man? Obama is not the Son of God. He is not the Messiah come down, and he is not Jesus returned. He is a just a man, like any other man. He just got into politics and became our president. Good for him. Congratulations. Now on to see what he does.
And he starts on a high note, too. He closed Guantanamo Bay. Of course, I wonder what hell be doing with the terrorists locked in there, but finally we have someone whos willing to do the right thing.
But then, one day, Im listening to Neil Boortz, and hear a very disturbing sound-clip. Neil Boortz plays a clip of a lady calling Citibank about her car being repossessed. She says something along the lines of: You wanna repossess my car? Go right ahead. We aint rich like yall. Yall have to understand that. But one day this year one day soon, we will be. Before that, Im watch the news, and a lady says something along the lines of I dont need to pay for gas, or pay my mortgage, because Obamas gonna take care of me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P36x8rTb3jI
Then, at school, I overhear a teacher saying I dont have to worry anymore. Im gonna get a raise. Obamas gonna give me a raise. Obamas gonna take care of me.
Obamas gonna take care of me. Obamas gonna pay for my gas and mortgage. Obamas gonna make me rich.
At what point does euphoria become crushing disappointment? One year? Two?
And what is that poor woman gonna say in four years when she doesnt have a car and shes not rich? What is that poor lady gonna say when in 4 years she cant drive anywhere and doesnt have a house because she has no gas and her mortgage isnt paid? What is that teacher gonna say when in 4 years he doesnt have his raise?
I would like to go ahead and make two predictions:
1. Barack Obama will not make a second term. The most probable reason is because in less then four years he will let down every single one of you who tried to make him the messiah. And then you wont vote him in, even if he has done more good then you can know. But theres another possibility, too, and that leads me to my second prediction:
2. Barack Obama will be assassinated. But not by a disgruntled Conservative, or a Klan member, or a Neo-Nazi, or even a terrorist. No. He will be assassinated by Miss Repossess my car or Miss I dont have to pay my mortgage or Mister Obamas gonna give me a raise. He will be assassinated by someone who voted for him, because he turned out not to be Jesus in the flesh, but just another Joe Schmoe who happened to become president.
I love my country. I believe the USA is, without a doubt, the greatest place to live. It is a place of freedom and of happiness, of solidarity and of power. The American Dream is the real thing if you work for it, and here we can be free like no one else can be free.
But I think its time to leave, because Id rather live in Israel and run for bomb shelters every 15 seconds then be living in America when the bottom falls out. And rest assured, the bottom is damn close to falling out. Its sagging, and even starting to crack. If we dont stop now; if we dont step back; you can be sure that the USA will fall dead.
