Been rather inactive on here lately due to one thing and another.
Pinklet was working at Glastonbury (I couldn't get the time off work,) so I had to fend for myself for a while! Glad to have her back - it's about the longest we've spent apart since we got together!
We're moving this month! We found a two bedroom house for rent. It's pretty reasonable, has a little garden with a BBQ and is just around the corner from Kristoph and TheKnives! Just shown someone around the flat for the first time. We pick up the keys to the new place on 4th and can start moving stuff over from then.
Work are putting me in charge of one of the websites we're running, which is more interesting for me and also some of my responsibilities will be taken care of by third party support, which is a bit of a coup. I've been working hard on lots of stuff towards it and we've just had the internet manager back from holiday today, so I'll be slightly less busy now, although I still needed to do a couple of hours work when I got home due to bad planning and management (not mine.). All these things will be brought up at my review when it happens, probably next week. I might even resort to blackmail if I have to as I think I deserve a pay rise.
Worrying about the cost of the wedding a bit as we'll have to pay rent on our current place AND the new place this month due to the way it's worked out - that could have paid for a few meals at the reception. Also we won't fully recoup our costs for moving in, even if we get the full deposit back on this place. Add to that the money I had to spend on the car last month and the fact that it needs an MOT this month... yeesh.
I've still got loads of personal projects on the go - still got to make a few tweaks to the website I'm working on as the owners have decided to use a particular shade of Pantone green, (although can't tell me which just yet,) meaning I'll have to redo a pretty major portion of the graphics. Might have been an idea to sort that out first, but there we go.
I'm also going to be starting a site for Vindice, which is very exciting. Just a couple more then I'll think about putting my own site together with a portfolio and trying to get clients.
Plenty of Illustrator stuff too - I've got one more icon to do for my wedding photographer friend, a T-shirt design and a cartoon of my friend to finish. I've got quite a few T-shirt designs sketched out and have already signed up to an online shop - more on that as events warrant. I've also started sketching a cartoon of myself for use on my site.
