Thursday: Valentines day.
Went over to Pinklet's for an excellent udon stir fry and general non-valentines related chat and activities, such as drinking and burping (mostly me doing the latter it has to be said.). She's such a good mate for putting up with my juvenile behavior. We were talking a few days before about drawing etc and ended up being asked to do her portrait, which I did:
Friday: The Mystorical tour
Pinklet and Narshada's day of adventure! Heading out from Bath, we stocked up on provisions (and I bought a shed load of pixar DVD's and series 3 of the Boosh, due to having gotten some Tesco tokens through work,) and headed out on our historical, mystery tour, cleverly dubbed the Mystorical tour by Pinks.
After being unsure if I was on the right road and heading in the right direction for a while, (but how can you tell when it's a mystery tour?) we made our first port of call in Cheddar, as modelled her by my glamorous assistant Pinklet (She's available for weddings and bah-mitzvahs folks!).
We had a short walk up the main street before deciding it was colder than a witches tit and headed back to the car, but not before Pinks achieved a lifelong dream of being able to lick a large piece of cartoon cheese:
We got up to warp factor 4 and quickly found ourselves in Wells, where this man;
the owner of the greatest sweet shop in the known universe, sold us all manner of goodies, including;
which had me laughing as it sounded like a testicle ache in swedish, so I had to try them and also the now infamous;
which, let me tell you, are the most sour things in existence. (Wow, that was a long sentence.) I have video of me and pinks trying them. As soon as I figure out how to post them, I will.
We saw the cathedral and the moat;
the places where they filmed Hot Fuzz;
and the oldest residential street in Europe;
and discovered that people in the middle ages were really quite short.
We headed home, thoroughly Mystorified and watched Hot Fuzz and the Pixar shorts before heading to the pub for a swift pizza and beer. Then back to Pink's to move her cats from her old flat to her new place. Finally concluded the evening by having a few more drinks with a mate back in Bristol.
Saturday: Meet and mayhem
Went to a greasy spoon in Bristol which had the most well spoken owner in the world. You see a man in a grease stained apron and chefs hat, but when he speaks, you hear the concierge at the Ritz.
Narshada: "Do you do soy milk?"
Cafe owner: "I'm terribly sorry sir, I'm afraid we don't. There is however, semi-skimmed cow's on the table to your left, where you will also find sugar and spoons."
Narshada: "Ummm... thanks!"
Cafe owner: "Thank you sir."
Astonishing.
Met Kristoph ;
who hopefully I will be entering into a musical collaboration with at some point.
theknives;
who seriously doesn't get enough credit for putting up with me and
Zamuzel
who is to be the subject of much speculation again after his antics at the meet.
We had a swift breakfast and got on the coach, where Zam found the ideas of Kris being warm in his jacket hilarious.
We got into Victoria, then took the tube to Camden, only we got seperated by the intervention of a little girl, so Zam and I watched Kristoph and theknives speed away, waving and grinning with glee. That meant that when we got to Camden, we didn't know about the Police with sniffer dogs at the entrance. Normally not a problem, but today, through a series of non-usual events, I had 1/8th of weed in my pocket. Oh dear. The dog jumped up...
So that was lucky. Next we went to Cold Steel for me to embark on my next mod - ear stretching. I went from ears pierced with a gun, to 2mm. Happy chappy. Eventually I want to go to 10mm I think, with tunnels.
Then we went to the worlds end pub, (making sure that we crossed the road to avoid the sniffer dog again - thanks to Kris and theknives for that suggestion.) where Kris and I rejoiced in the bask of Sepultura and we were joined by Causy;
and had a few drinks, before moving on to the actual meet venue, making sure to walk down to the Warren St. tube to avoid sniffer dogs once more. (Thanks again to theknives for that suggestion.)
We were first there and scoped out the room downstairs, which was full of random people, despite having been booked.
Over the course of the evening we met:
rdpixie
the lovely Miyo
and the equally lovely Machiko
who took an excellent shot of me, gurning as always and became my smoking buddy, along with;
Ashx
and then met the ironically camera shy Jezebel
along with our illustrious leader,
who engaged in the ULTIMATE FACE OFF!;
which Causy adjudicated;
as well as
Del
and Sky
Who looks a little disturbed to have some random bald guy sticking a camera in her face. Sorry to anyone that was assaulted by me in this way - that's just how I say hello.
In addition there were also old favourites;
Conroy
former member GTWR
Rael who I spoke to more last night than at other meets, but can't remember much of the conversation as I ended up pretty pissed - hope it went well.
and Fry who seemed pleased to see me at first,
(perhaps even a little too pleased?) but then remembered that he'd met me before.
We also met former member theQuestion, necross discosleaze and doplex, amongst others. Sorry to anyone I've forgotten, but I didn't get to speak to everyone and don't remember much of what I said to those I did.
We bombed off to the coach station, where Zam decided to perform the oddest dance ever seen. TheKnives looked after both him and also me, who was only slightly less drunk at that point, and made sure we all got samosas and even made sure mine was veggie - thanks once more!
One short, sleepy coach ride, a taxi and a short walk later and I was home and sleepy.
Cheers y'all.
