So Thurs, the lovely Pinklet and I went out for a few. She was a bit stressed so we had a good long talk and after drinks in Bar Salt near me and then a pizza and more drinks at Renato's, (where we bumped into a rather drunken and amusing Kristoph,) followed by more beer and 2 games of Pool which she won both of, finally followed by more beer in the Apple, (well, cider for Pinks,) things seemed a lot better.
Unfortunately my estimation of having 'enough time for one more' before Pinks got her train proved to be entirely fail, and so she missed her last train home. Being the gentleman I am, I left her there and ran... just kidding, we walked back to mine, spent a while talking to my housemate and watching tv.
Friday I went out with Kristoph, theknives and Zamuzel and another friend of theirs for a few. Unfortunately I'd got a bit stoned so was a teensy bit cosmic and therefore withdrawn and quiet, (read - really into the patterns on the wallpaper for a while...
) for which I apologise guys!
Anyway I managed to beat Kristoph at a game of pool, thus preserving the tiny remaining scrap of dignity I had left after my sound thrashing by Pinklet (and subsequent ear bashing by Fry.).
Saturday I woke up feeling a bit crap and basically spent the dat watching dvd's and tv whilst drinking Martinis and smoking spliffs.
Sunday I went to see Pinklet again and we had a few in the Hobgoblin and put some awesome choons on the jukebox. I decided I still felt crap and was going to call in sick. They'd had Shaun of the dead playing in the pub, so we decided to have a Simon Pegg day today.
I had to drop my car in for a service so picked Pinklet up in a shagged out old Micra, which is my mechanic's courtesy car, which feels like you're driving a dinky toy, only not build quite as well and less likely to survive any impact. We watched the first series of Big Train, followed by Shaun of the Dead. I'll have to pick up Hot Fuzz some time, as I love that too. Anyway, Pinklet had brought a load of Ghibli films, so we watched Howl's moving castle next, which was great, rounded off with an episode or two of Spaced.
I made enchiladas, which went down well and then I had to go pick up my car and drop Pinks off.
My car is not well. In addition to the service, I had to have two sensors replaced and other bits done on it. There's another 170 gone. Plus I still have to tax it this month. Lastly, my mechanic told me that the clutch was on the way out and the little end bearings are shot. That means very little if anything to me, so he put it in these terms;
"Don't bring it back because next time it won't be worth fixing and I don't want to take any more money off you for it."
Those were his exact words. He doesn't think it will run much longer. I need a car to be able to get to work. Mine is about to die. I have exactly 0 saved and I'm not even sure if I'll be able to make the London meet now, so I can't afford another one. Fuck-a-doodle-doo.
I'm taking tomorrow off too. I am still ill.
