Went to see Ratatouille last night with E. Totally recommend it for anyone who's interested in a good movie, excellent animation and amazing art design. The whole thing was very cool, some great funny moments, some good sweet moments without becoming saccharine and good charactarisation. In short, everything Pixar is known for. Speaking of shorts, the accompanying short, 'Lifted' was very funny too. Sometimes I think I prefer Pixar's shorts to some of the movies, even though they're all great. Lifted was really well executed, especially since there was no real dialogue. This is a company that has actually studied silent movies and gleaned the best of the techniques from those days in order to tell a simple but funny story, simply.
If only more film and animation companies did the same.
