Thurs night I met a friend for a drink and then we went on to the Grain Barge to meet a couple of her friends - J who I'd met before and C who I hadn't. We had a few and then headed back to C's house. My friend B and J decided they wanted a curry so they stopped off on the way.
C & I went back to hers, I drank probably most of her gin and she rolled several large spliffs, so by the time J & B came back, we were pretty much toasted.
J & I got a taxi back as she lives near me and we swopped numbers. Although we'd met before we'd never really talked, but we ended up having a really good laugh so she said she'd give me a shout if she was going out on North St, which is one of my local haunts and so the social circle widens once more. (Another female friend...)
Fri night went out with E, her sister who was up for the weekend and A - a friend of E's who I met at the St. Paul's carnival. He's cool and we like to do various accents to amuse each other.
We went to a cider pub, then took a cab up to Gloucester road, which is a pretty happening part of town. We went to drink caiperinha's and E nearly choked to death when I made her laugh as she was drinking and she inhaled a shitload of Brazilian cane sugar rum.
We went to see DJ Derek, who is a 79 year old white accountant who plays reggae and speaks in a patois accent. The guy was a legend and E & her sister were happy as they're both really into reggae.
Some 50-something guy was dancing with E's sister for a while and kept coming over to talk to her. Apparently, he asked if she wanted to go home with him so E had a pop at him as we left, which was pretty funny.
Sat night we picked up E's sister's BF at the station and went to the Old Duke, which usually has some decent live jazz on. We sat outside drinking for a while and then went to Mr. Wolfs, which is a great bar. I had noodles (they do great noodles,) and the best chilli sauce ever for the second time. The band were... well, not crap but just really bland so we left. I was ready to go because although I love it there, it was where I first kissed my ex and every now and then I would look over at the spot where it happened and feel a little tug in my guts.
We walked up Park St and the BF got a sandwich before we decided there was nowhere up there we wanted to go so we went back down to Renatos, a pizza restaurant/bar and had more drinks. At one point my pint inexplicably fell off the table. I managed to catch it, but I ended up looking like I'd pissed myself.
E mentioned moving in together a few times. She's really keen to share with me and her housemate/landlord is moving away in about 6 weeks. I'm considering it.
Sunday was a fairly quiet affair. E was going to get in touch if they were doing anything but I didn't hear from her. V came back after her all night date and I got to hear about that (it didn't go great.).
Later on, V and I went over to my friend D's house for a smoke. We'd already polished off a bottle of red between us and had some more red to go with the weed so I ended up pretty mashed.
Good times.
