Well, salsa was a fun experience. It's definitely harder than it looks, but fun and the people there were all pretty friendly. The women in the beginners class were very varied - one only just came up to my chest and another was a good half a head taller than me, (I'm 6ft) although I didn't notice if she was wearing heels.
I decided to dress up a little as I usually wear jeans and t-shirts, (at work as well,) so I put on a shirt, trousers and shoes and to be honest was probably the smartest dressed guy there but it's been so long since I dressed up, it was a nice change.
Obviously part of the reason for going was to check out the ladies and I had gone with the intention of bringing out my confident and gregarious side, but inbetween being a little nervous to begin with and also trying to learn dance steps, conversation was a little limited. In fact I did attempt to start a couple of conversations, but didn't get much in the way of replies, but then I think we were all concentrating on not falling over each other's feet and talking complicated matters.
Anyway it was fun, the venue was cool, I got to dance with some attractive young ladies and I got a few beers in, so no complaints. My housemate was pleased I'd gone, (she's been bugging me to go for a while,) and if I decide to go again I can always practice with her.
