What a weekend!
Met up with the girl I'd been chatting to and we went to the organic food festival, only to find out they charged for entry. So we went to the pub instead and had a drink, before deciding that we might as well go check it out after all. It was pretty cool, with lots of free samples on offer, (we stuck mostly to cheese and wine samples!) and plenty to see, including a samba drumming band. She had previously been in a samba band so we watched for a while.
We stopped off at the pub for a couple on the way home and then bought a couple of bottles of wine and headed back to mine for some food. Both my housemates were in, but preparing to go out so we helped one of them drink a bottle of red and then had some pasta and proceeded to drink the other two bottles.
We spent the rest of the evening on the sofa just watching tv and chatting, with her laid across the sofa, resting her legs on my lap and me resting my arms on her legs but nothing else happened. I'm so bad at this stage when you don't know for sure if they like you, or even if they do whether you should kiss them etc... Once that stage is passed I'm fine, but I'm a little shy at first and don't want to overstep any boundaries. Maybe I should have just gone for it, I dunno. Anyway I walked her home and we hugged at the door.
Sunday I was going to go to the kite festival with her, so I woke up slightly hung over and then had some breakfast and sent her a text. I didn't hear anything back so I went online and she popped up on msn to say she'd left her phone at mine. Being the gentleman I am, (which is half my bloody problem...) I dropped it over. She was more hung over than I was and answered the door in her dressing gown, but still looked great.
I stayed for a cup of tea but then decided to walk to the kite festival. She felt too rough to go so I left her to it.
I sent a text to my housemate to see if she and her friend were going but got no reply, then called a couple more friends, one of whom was out and the other was going elsewhere for the day but said he might meet up for a drink later. I had arranged to meet another long term friend there so I texted her and also got no reply.
Bummer. So I went on my own, had a look round and it was pretty cool. The first stall I came across was a veggie burger van and I was starving so I got one. I went for a drink and sat and people watched for a while.
It was perfect kite flying weather; not sunny like the forecast had said, but at least it wasn't raining and there was plenty of wind.
I took a long walk home and as I got in, my friend rang to say he was going to the pub. 5 mins later I'm back in the bar, playing pool. I got a text from my housemate apologising for not replying sooner and asking where I was so she ended up coming along and my other friend texted to say sorry for not being at the fest, but she'd left her phone at her BF's parents and they'd not made it due to spending the afternoon with his folks.
So I'm a little hung over again this morning and work has been a pain, but I have a really busy week ahead -
my housemate has finally broken me and got me to agree to go to salsa dancing with her tonight after bugging me about it for months. Tues I'm going to a gig with some guys from work, wed I'm meeting a friend for drinks, thurs I'm meeting some old work buddies for more drinks and fri I think I might have a quiet night in!
Cya!
