I started going to open roller derby practices for the LA derby dolls.I think I'm hooked. Yes, I have bloody and sore feet from the horrible rental skates, but I plan to get some of my own soon. skating on rentals and bloody feet seem to be apart of the normal initiation though. Yesterday was my first real practice with a team and I think I did pretty good. At the end, I was being praised by some of the veteran scatters who asked me to continue coming back. The couch definitely laughed as she was kicking our asses on the track. I should have known roller derby was just another name for boot camp. Haha. I am excited to see where this goes. If I eventually get on a team, of course I want to use the name Napalm and wear a corset on during official brawls. Does anyone have skates they want to give me? I need a size 10 for my big feet.
