To anyone upset about this election that is suggesting violence against women ("Rape Melania" signs) or inciting violence (pulling a dude out if his car and beating him), you are going against every facet of the movement. They go low, we go high. I'm quoting our first lady, not the former first lady. This is not a time for violence, vengeance, or retribution. This is a time of great civil unrest. We must familiarize ourselves with the works of great leaders, such as Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Read the scriptures of Christianity to see that there are snakes in the grass of God. Those who would use His name, but not live by His works. We must present tolerance in the face of great evil for any evil we commit is met with anger and hate one thousand fold. We are battling a wave of hate that this nation has not publicly seen since the 1960s. This is not a time for vigilantes. We must be organized, peaceful, and loving. To battle hate, we need heroes. We need people taking a stand against hate. If you think that yelling at an Asian woman is heroic, you are an agent of hate and blind to the fact. Protect your fellow humans. If we rend the flesh from our bodies, you will see the same thing, no matter our origin. We are all humans. No matter who you voted for in this past election, do your part and protect the women, gays, and people of color. If you hate with all of your heart and call yourself a Christian, ask yourself, "What would Jesus do?" He would not hate and neither should you.
